Type of Doula/Focus of Care:
Full Spectrum Doula (holding space for all outcomes of pregnancy). Shifting practice towards postpartum care and placenta services. Primary focus on holistic wellness through herbalism and nutrition throughout the childbearing years and early childhood.

General Structure of Doula Services:
I find it important to really get to know you before attending your birth, as it is such a meaningful and intimate life event. For this reason, I like to arrange 3 prenatal visits to discuss support strategies and approaches that resonate with you as a unique individual. During these visits we will also discuss the physiology of birth, develop an ideal birth vision, and cover any questions you may have about pregnancy/birth/postpartum with evidence based information.

I maintain an on-call status for the 2-3 weeks around your estimated due date. I provide continuous emotional & physical labor support (in the home and/or hospital), birth support, and immediate postpartum care while you get settled with your new baby. My signature touch is to put great care into creating your ideal ambiance in the birthing space – soothing all of your senses; sight, sound, touch, taste, and aroma by providing fresh wild flowers, evergreens, fairy lights, candles, affirmation art cards, comfort food snacks, homemade Laboraide and/or herbal Birth Day Tea, etc.

Following the birth I provide 3 postpartum home visits; with frequency and duration tailored to your needs. Additional visits available at an hourly rate. During these postpartum visits I may support you in the following ways: processing the birth experience, referrals to community support and trusted specialists, lactation support, evidence based newborn care guidance, running errands, short term newborn care while you attend to self-care needs, light housework, and meal prep.

Additional Projects/Non-Doula Services:
I am a homesteader, permaculturist, forager, and wildcraft herbalist by trade. Living this life allows me to be deeply connected to the natural rhythms of the earth. I believe birth is just another one of these natural rhythms. I find great joy in sharing the knowledge of wild and free medicine for your family just outside your door. I also have a line of locally sourced wild harvested herbal medicine and body products available to support you and your family throughout the childbearing years.

Why Are You A Doula?
I believe in the intuitive and biological wisdom held within each woman to bring forth life. Growing up in a community of women who all had home births it never occurred to me that birth was something to fear. Even with the birth of my own daughter, it was everything that would come after the birth that gave me the most anxiety because my partner and village were lacking. This is why I believe we need to rewrite the conversation around birth in our society; to stop fear-mongering women into handing over their power into the hands of strangers. To start putting that power rightfully back into their hands and show up to provide the village care they need. I’m not saying pregnancy and birth are meant to be easy, because it’s often not, but the hardships and emotional turmoil surrounding pregnancy and childbirth are the perfect preparations for the journey of parenthood that lies ahead. When given the opportunity to witness yourself overcome one of life’s greatest challenges – childbirth – it allows you to move forward in life with an unimaginable sense of strength.

Our modern society is not set up for supporting parenthood, let alone parenting without partnership. Where did the village go? In the birth world, I believe doulas are one of the last remaining links to the village mentality we so desperately need for raising children to be healthy and whole members of a functioning and sustainable society. If our children's introduction to the world is more supported and healing then perhaps our future society will be more supportive and healed.

I have a tender place in my heart for supporting single mothers and young folks navigating unplanned pregnancies.
