Type of Doula and Focus of Care:

Postpartum Doula providing individualized, warm,  and loving support to individuals and families during the postpartum period.

General Structure of Doula Services:

Postpartum Support:

I offer a free initial consultation to discuss your needs and determine whether we’d be a good fit to work together.

After this initial consultation, I offer postpartum support that is customized to your unique needs, goals, and situation. My hope as a doula is to meet you right where you’re at and provide compassionate and non-judgemental support. Examples of postpartum support could include:

- Newborn care

- Nourishing meal preparation

- Holding space for you to process your birth/postpartum experiences

- Breastfeeding/feeding support

- Sibling care

- Light household tidying

- Referrals to local practitioners

Why are you a Doula?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved babies. I grew up carrying my babydolls in a sling and helping to care for my younger brother. As I grew older, I was able to watch my mother support new parents through her role as a lactation consultant and I observed the powerful impact postpartum support can have in getting off to a healthy and smooth start. This upbringing fostered an interest in working with new life and in maternal and child health. I currently work with new life in my role as a forest preschool teacher and feel blessed to work with new families. I love caring for, supporting, encouraging, and nurturing people. I’m honored to work with new babies and transitioning families and individuals.

Other Projects:

Sibling support: I have experience working with and teaching children and youth ages 3 - 15 through nature-connection programs at Ithaca Forest Preschool, Primitive Pursuits, and the Ithaca Waldorf School. I love working with children and youth and helping to facilitate smooth transitions into siblinghood.
