Type of Doula/Focus of Care: I offer full spectrum doula care in supporting all outcomes of pregnancy – birth, pregnancy release (abortion), miscarriage, loss – and postpartum care. Additionally, I offer holistic health and herbal medicine support, if desired.

LGBTQIA+ affirming space

General Structure for Doula Services: I offer an initial free consultation to speak with you and your family, to explore if inviting me to join your birth team is a good fit for all.

Birth Doula Services

As a birth doula I deeply respect and honor each birthing person’s (and their family’s) unique needs, with each labor package being flexible and customizable. A typical labor support package includes 2 prenatal visits (1.5-2 hours each), both within 30-36 weeks, along with continuous emotional and informational support (once I join your birth team) throughout your pregnancy, over the phone or by email. Additionally, the labor support package includes 24/7 "on-call" status starting 3 weeks prior to your estimated due date. When in labor, I will join you and your birth team when you're ready for me. Depending on the birth and what is needed, I typically stay 2-3 hours post birth to make sure you are comfortable and address any immediate needs or concerns. . I usually make my first postpartum visit to your home within 2-4 days after birth, the second to follow within 1-3 weeks after birth.

Postpartum Doula Services

Additionally, I offer postpartum support beyond our agreed upon labor package at $25-30 per hour, which is also customizable based on your needs and desires.  Postpartum support is mother/birthing person centered, and my role typically includes light housework, errands, wholesome/nourishing meal prep, newborn care, and breast/body-feeding support to help the family be with baby as much as possible, and allow rest and care for mother/birthing person and/or partner. With the changing family rhythms of a newborn my support importantly extends and supports the partner and other family members through assisting with any household duties (stated above) that may be preventing personal time, self-care, and necessary rest.

Abortion Doula Services

In the case of an unplanned and/or undesired pregnancy, I offer abortion or pregnancy release support to help someone navigate through the potential uncertainty and emotions at this time. Through providing information and discussing options, my intention is to help normalize abortion and for individuals to feel a sense of empowerment and confidence in their choice to release a pregnancy. As a pregnancy release (abortion) doula I offer an initial free options counseling and consult to explore working together and to discuss in clinic and/or at-home abortion options.  A typical abortion support package includes before, during and after abortion support; a pre-abortion support phone call or meeting to discuss support, care, and provide any information needed, day-of physical and emotional support, and additional in-person or phone or text support (for at home medication abortions) for the duration of your pregnancy release, plus two (1.5-2 hour) post-abortion/procedure emotional and/or physical visits (at home or over the phone).

For BIPOC or low income individuals/families, if financial support for birth, postpartum, or full spectrum services is needed, please check out the Doula Access Initiative to apply for funding support.

Why are you a doula? I have been guided to this work over the past 12 years by my own health ailments, in addition to my love for providing support to others. Initially, my search to understand my own body led me to a fascination with the endocrine and reproductive systems (or womb space), and from there emerged deep awe and curiosity about the process of childbirth. In addition to my love for the science and emotional support aspects of pregnancy and birth, I have a keen love and respect for children. I feel honored and excited to get to be involved in their first moments, days, and weeks of life on Earth.

Testimonials: “Danielle is an extraordinary space holder. In other words, she is caring, aware, responsive, and receptive. During our birth, as a father to be, I experienced her available to not just support my wife, but to be an advocate for me. Even with this being her first birth, I would've never known. She just gets it. I would highly recommend her to be at your birth”. – Shimon

"Danielle epitomizes the type of person that is vital to be present at birth. She has a natural gift of calm, and knows how to empower women to step into their power. Her healing touch and her soothing voice knew exactly what I needed without verbal communication. Her knowledge of plant medicine was also important to me as she prepared teas, decoctions, sitz baths and other remedies for the third trimester and postpartum. Danielle's positive, loving and present spirit would be a gift at any birth."- Sarah

"When our firstborn arrived, we had so many questions and so much to do. We were so grateful to find Danielle as a postpartum doula! Her presence in our home was steady, uplifting, and reassuring. Danielle tackled all manner of household tasks with artful confidence, creating delicious and nourishing dishes, cleaning everything babe-related, and contributing to household harmony and organization. While accomplishing an incredible amount of work in a condensed amount of time, Danielle always took time to ask me how I was doing, admire the babe, and share her prodigious knowledge. We were nurtured by her knowledge of postpartum care, baby development, nutrition, herbs, and the local flora and fauna. An especially compelling testament to her work is that my husband always sank into the couch and heaved a sigh of relief on the day that Danielle came. (His duties were relieved!)" - B.O.M.
