Type of Doula and focus of care: Full spectrum doula specializing in holistic care for birth, postpartum, pregnancy loss, and terminations. I have a lot of experience with high risk and high medical needs births, as well as out of hospital birth.

General structure of Doula services: As a birth doula, I offer a complementary meeting to discuss my services and to see if we’d be a good match. Once you are signed on, I offer unlimited text/call/email support for the duration of your pregnancy. We have 2 prenatal meetings, around 30 and 36 weeks to prepare for labor and postpartum. Included in my package is one postpartum visit, usually used week 1 but can be used any time. This visit is to process your birth and assist with feeding and newborn care.

As a postpartum doula, I offer services a la carte (2 hour minimum), or packages (20 or 40 hours).

Why are you a Doula?

Doula work has been a calling for me. I discovered what a doula was when I was completing a prenatal yoga training in 2015. I became fascinated with the birthing process and outraged at the amount of birth trauma, maternal mortality, and overall negative experiences families were having in the system. I attended my first birth that year and knew this is something I would be spending my life doing. The transitions of birth and death are sacred and deserve reverence. It is a privilege to hold space for others in this way. I became a postpartum doula in 2016 and enjoy providing the much needed support for not only the first 40 days, but continuously through the first year and beyond. Healthy mothers are foundational for a healthy society and it is joyful for me to feed, nurture, and love on new moms as they give that same support to their newborns.

Additional projects/non-doula services: I’m a yoga instructor with over 1000 hours of training including prenatal yoga. I’m also a certified lactation counselor, hold a B.S in nutrition, and am trained in herbalism.

I live in Ithaca with my husband and son. We’re passionate about living a slow and meaningful life that connects us to the earth and the seasons and cycles. We run a homestead with chickens, ducks, medicinal mushrooms, and gardens. We forage and wild harvest medicinal herbs and make soaps, salves, and candles.
